Flash tomato on Asus router RT-N10P

These steps are adapted from http://tech.surveypoint.com/posts/tomato-firmware-install-on-asus-rt-n10p-router/. I had simplified the procedure for you here.

• Download the appropriate tomato firmwire. I used tomato-K26-1.28.RT-N5x-MIPSR2-121-Max.trx. You can download it from http://tomato.groov.pl/download/K26RT-N/build5x-121-EN/. Newer version (latest is v124) are available in http://tomato.groov.pl/download/K26RT-N/ .
• Download and install asus firmware recovery program from http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=11&m=RT-N10P&hashedid=wU7ZgKmZf29DK6D0
• Start the firmware recovery program.
• Select the firmware (do not press upload yet)
• Unplug the power from the router (no need to use static IP in your computer).
• Holding down on the reset button, plug in the power to the router.
• holding the reset button till the power light blink slowly,
• Press the upload button in the recovery program. 100% upload will be completed in a minute.
• Wait for 30 minutes more without disturbing the router. You'll probably see the errors in the firmware restore window. Do not worry about that as long as wait for 30 min.

• Connect to 192.168.1.1 in your web browser.
• Switch off the router, press wps button and turn on the router --> to reset the nvram.
• Configure the router and have fun.

Extend the whatsapp subscription by one year using a landline number

If you do not want to pay for whatsapp subscription, you can extend the license for one year with this small workaround. You need to have a landline number for this to work.

1. Delete the expired account. This option is available in settings>Account. You need to type your number before you can delete the account.
2. Press change number available in settings>Account. 
3. Type in the landline number. Whatsapp will attempt to verify this number by sending SMS. Since this number is landline, there will not be any SMS received.
4. Whatsapp will wait for 5 min. After 5 min is expired, whatsapp will give you an option to call you at the landline number with the confirmation number.
5. Confirm to call the landline number and input the confirmation received on landline number.
6. You got one year free subscription to whatsapp.

Map Box.net drive in computer using WebDAV

We can create a local box.net virtual drive in computer using WebDAV. We will be able to do most of the file operations (copy/paste/rename) from local computer. Note that the local drive will be only a link to your box.net folder and contents, which means the actual folders and files will not be downloaded to local computer (like Dropbox).

In Windows 7,

1. Go to (My) computer.
2. Click Map network drive
3. In the folder field, write  https://www.box.net/dav
4. After few seconds, there will be prompt for user name and password. Provide your box.net user name and password.
5. Windows will create a local drive pointing to your box.net folders.

How to Convert Magnet links into Torrent Files for Dropbox

Some of the torrent sites like Piratebay are now offering only magnet links. If you would like to start downloading remotely using dropbox, the magnet links won't work. To remote start downloading, you need the actual .torrent file.


Steps to follow:

1. Click the magnet link. Your default torrent client (for example utorrent) will start. Press OK.
2. After the download has started, go to %appdata%\uTorrent\ using Windows Run command (for other clients look for appropriate folder in  %appdata%.)
3. You will see the .torrent file there (if the .torrent file is not there, it means the torrent downloading has not yet started - wait for couple of minutes. Once the download is started, the .torrent file will show up).

Now you have the .torrent file to email or copy to Dropbox.


Option 2: You can try to use http://magnet2torrent.me. However, it may not work all the time. It may work, if your torrent is a popular one.

Calculation of Vapor Pressure using HYSYS.

1. Create the stream with required composition.

2. Enter the desired temperature in the stream properties.

3. Set the vapor fraction to 0.

Pressure calculated by HYSYS will be the vapor pressure of that stream. Note that HYSYS is actually calculating the bubble pressure when vapor fr is set to 0. But bubble pressure is the vapor pressure at the specified temperature (good for any temperatures below critical temperature).

Note that vapour pressure greater than operating pressure (for a multicomponent mixtures) just means that the liquid is flashing (Vapor-liquid mixture).


To keep a liquid phase the operating pressure of a two phase stream is usually greater than the liquid vapour pressure. Otherwise the liquid would flash so that the vapour pressure of the new liquid is below the operating pressure. This means for a two phase multicomponent mixture flow, the vapour pressure of liquid at operating temperature (not entire mixture) is equal to the operating pressure.

DD-WRT Client bridge on Linksys E3000.

These steps are adapted from http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Client_Bridged. However following those steps exactly did not work for me. So I modified the steps.

My Access point router IP address was 192.168.1.254 (not a DD-WRT router) and E3000 router IP address was 192.168.1.1.

1. Download and install a recommended build for your router. DO NOT USE SP1. I used Kong build 19200M (SP2 build).
2. Do a HARD reset on your router (press the reset buttom on the back of E3000 router for at least 15 seconds).
3. Connect a cable from your computer to the LAN port on your router.
4. Set your computer to a static IP address of 192.168.1.9
5. Set your browser to 192.168.1.1 and open the dd-wrt webgui.
6. You should be asked to change your password and username. Carefully type these in. (If you aren't asked for a password and username, do a hard reset, this time doing it properly!) Hit change password.
7. Go FIRST to wireless, wireless security and enter the security type and key that matches your primary router.
8. Hit SAVE, (NOT APPLY)
9. Go to the wireless, basic settings page and change the wireless mode to Client Bridge.
10. Your wireless network mode, channel and encryption should be set to the same as the primary router.
11. Set the wireless network name to exactly the same as your primary router. Make sure spelling and capitalization match.
12. Hit SAVE, (NOT APPLY)
13. Goto Setup, basic setup and enter a router Local IP address of 192.168.1.1. (it will be already that IP address). Leave subnet mask at 255.255.255.0.
14. Set the Gateway IP to the IP of your primary router. (192.168.1.254 in my case)
15. Leave Local DNS blank
16. Change your timezone and DST to match where you are.
17. Hit SAVE, (NOT APPLY)
18. Goto Security, Firewall. 
19. Disable SPI Firewall
20. Hit Save and then Apply.
21. You are done. Wait for at least 5 minutes for the router to apply the configuration and get the internet connection from primary router.
